The Qminder iPad application requires a connection to Qminder's cloud systems in order to work. Sometimes, the corporate network needs a few extra configuration steps to get it right! Here are some easy-to-follow steps to get everything ready for your Qminder roll-out.

When something is wrong with the iPad's connectivity, our Qminder support team can walk you through the process of getting that iPad back online. So send a message to our support team!

Symptoms that you may have a connectivity issue 🏩

  • Visitors are not logged into Qminder after self-registering on the iPad

  • iPad doesn't show the Tap Here To Start button

  • iPad doesn't show the pairing code

  • iPad shows "Sorry, can't load Qminder at the moment."

Potential causes of connectivity issues ⚠️

  • Corporate network configuration has not been updated to allow connections to Qminder's cloud systems

  • Wi-Fi signal strength is too low for a stable connection

  • There is an issue from Qminder's side

How to detect problems with corporate network or Wi-Fi ❌

  • If you don't see the iPad pairing code, or see the "Sorry, can't load Qminder at the moment." message - it is likely that the corporate network configuration is blocking Qminder.

  • Visit https://dashboard.qminder.com on your employee workstation - if you get a connection problem, it is likely that the corporate network or Wi-Fi is having issues.

  • Visit https://dashboard.qminder.com on an alternative device (such as your personal smartphone) - using mobile data connectivity instead of the corporate network or Wi-Fi. If you can access Qminder from your alternative device, then it is very likely that the corporate network or Wi-Fi is having issues.

How to solve problems with corporate network or Wi-Fi βœ…

  • Contact support - we have a document that you can forward to your IT department, that guides the IT department on allow-listing Qminder cloud systems in the corporate network.

How to detect problems with Wi-Fi signal strength ❌

  • If your employee workstation can access Qminder, but your iPad cannot - it is possible that the Wi-Fi signal near the iPad is too weak.

  • In order to verify, move the iPad closer to your workstation (either by moving the iPad stand, or taking the iPad with you to the workstation).

  • If the iPad's connection issues are resolved by moving the iPad's position closer to your workstation, then it is very likely that the Wi-Fi signal strength is the cause of the issue.

How to solve problems with Wi-Fi signal strength βœ…

  • Oftentimes the best approach is to re-position the iPad to another location, where it gets a better Wi-Fi signal.

  • If this is undesirable, it may be required to request an additional Wi-Fi Access Point from IT to install it near the iPad's location.

How to detect problems with Qminder cloud systems

  • Qminder provides a real-time status page @ https://status.qminder.com - when you visit this page, it will tell you whether Qminder is currently fully operational or if there are any issues with Qminder cloud systems.
