This article does not apply to input fields on the Sign-In iPad. To collect additional data on the iPad, see the article about Configuring number views for iPad.

In Qminder you can use 5 types of Input Fields when setting up custom Input Fields, one of which is the Number field.

The Number Input Field provides accuracy in the data collection, ensuring that visitors can only enter numbers and eliminating the risk of errors from entering letters or symbols.

It is best used for collecting numerical information from visitors such as quantities, party size, population, and other questions that indicate a value.

ADDING A NUMBER INPUT FIELD

To access the Input Field settings, go to the Locations Settings > Input fields & Labels page.

To add a new input field, click the green button +NEW FIELD. From the drop-down menu, choose the Number field.

Enter the field title, which will be displayed on the Service View. Configure the Number field settings further and click on the Save button.

  • Limits: You can configure the minimum and maximum values to set value limits. You can allow negative values as well.

  • Allow decimal places: If you need to collect numerical values that include decimal places, you need to allow this option. Set the number of digits the visitor can enter to the right of the decimal. For example, If you set the limit to 2 digits, visitors can't enter 1.200 as an answer.

  • Visitor-facing title: Enable this option to display an alternative title on the iPad and Visit Planner to the visitors during check-in. The new title will replace the input field name which was entered by the user on the iPad Settings page.

Additional Input Feld settings:

  • Display the field for all Services or only for selected Services.

  • Show field in Remote sign-in. The Input Field title will be displayed on Visit Planner if the Visitor-facing title is not enabled.

  • Make it required during check-in or before finishing the service. Required before finishing service setting is useful for situations where front-line staff needs to collect additional information from the visitors during the service.
